Several Perch Base members attended a Meet & Greet with some of the crew of the USS Arizona (PCU-803) on November 7, 2024.
The USS Arizona Legacy Foundation hosted 10 Sailors from the USS Arizona SSN-803 for a series of celebrations, educational visits, and community support activities across Arizona. During the visit, they invited Perch Base USSVI to attend a Meet & Greet with the crew, including the Commanding Officer, Cmdr. Thomas E. Digan, Jr, the COB (Chief of the Boat) and 8 other crewmembers, mostly nukes.
The Meet & Greet was held at the Phoenix Bourbon Room in downtown Phoenix.
The mission of the USS Arizona Legacy Foundation is three-fold:
1) Celebrate the addition of the USS Arizona submarine to our Naval Fleet through a series of grand festivities and community events.
2) Educate future generations about the history and significance of Pearl Harbor, the USS Arizona battleship, and her gallant men, and
3) Support the crew of the USS Arizona submarine and foster a lasting bond between them and the citizens of Arizona throughout the life of the boat.
