Congratulations to the three children and grandchildren of our Phoenix, AZ, Perch Base members who each received scholarships during the February 8, 2023, Board of Directors meeting.
At the following general meeting on February 11, 2023, Howard Doyle's grandaughter Mia was present to receive her scholarship.
Mia is a senior in high school, a straight "A" student for the last 12½ years, co-captain of the swim team, participated in the state swim meets all 4 years, and set the school record in the backstroke this year. Mia accepted the scholarship award and thanked the Perch Base for the award. She plans to use the award toward her college tuition at the University of Hawaii at Hilo where she will be majoring in biology with plans to go on to medical school to become a doctor.
