Annual Awards Banquet
Perch Base Submarine Veterans (USSVI) held its Annual Awards Banquet on 1/21/2023 at the Pebble Creek Clubhouse, Goodyear, AZ.
Congratulatlions to our Chief of the Boat (COB) Don Robertson, who was awarded the 2022 "Sailor of the Year" Award.
Our guest speaker was Admiral Vernon Clark (ret). Admiral Clark was the 27th Chief of Naval Operations."
Holland Club Inductions were performed for Warner Howard Doyle, Governor C. Joy and Stanley N. Reinhold upon achieving 50 years
as Qualified in Submarines.
Special thanks to George Woods & Chris Gahan who took photos, since the Webmaster, Dan Marks, did not attend.

George then inducted Warner Howard Doyle, Governor C. Joy and Stanley N. Reinhold into the Holland Club upon achieving 50 years as Qualified in Submarines. Franklin Hausen and John C. Mosher were not present to receive their awards and are expected to be issued at the Annual Base Picnic in April. Robert E. Saenz's ( Bob da COB) primary base is the Hampton Roads (Virginia) Base and he will receive his Holland Club induction at the National Convention.

Following the Evening Meal, Base Commander George Woods introduced our guest speaker, Admiral Vernon Clark (ret).
Admiral Clark was the 27th Chief of Naval Operations.
Upon completion of his presentation, George Woods presented the Admiral a plaque of appreciation.

Carl Miner tolled the bell for the January "Tolling of the Boats" ceremony, and tolled the bell in
remembrance our Perch Base members who passed on to Eternal Patrol during 2022.
