OBITUARY
Dale Leor Skeivik

Submariner Dale Leor Skeivik, born March 13, 1958, departed on Eternal Patrol on September 25, 2021. Our condolences to his Sister, Cryptologic (administrative) Master Chief Petty Officer, Stella Reyes, CTACM, and the rest of the family.
We don't know a great deal about Dale, since he was not a member of Perch Base, but we do know that he was a crewmember on USS James Madison, SSBN-627, from 1977 to 1982, serving as a Navigation Electronics Technician (ET).

Dale Leor Skeivik served on the USS James Madison (SSBN‑627), from 1977 to 1982, presumably his qual boat.

Copied from the Heritage Funeral Chapel website:
Dale Leor Skeivik, a Veteran, devoted husband of 42 years, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on September 25, 2021, in Phoenix, AZ at age 63 surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Leor was survived by his mother Dolores; sisters Vickie, Karen, Maureen, Lisa and Stella; spouse Deborah; children Theresa, Patrick, Kristina, Sarah, Margaret and Daniel; grandchildren, Matthew, Joshua, Nora, Violet, Patrick, Iris, James and Lycan, and many more family members and friends.
Leor had many interests that included camping, fishing, watching sports (Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals and Minnesota Twins), Catholicism, John Wayne movies and his biggest interest, family activities. Leor enjoyed many family activities which included pinochle, board games, pool volleyball, watching Frasier, Renaissance Festival and family vacations.
Leor touched many people throughout his life. Most people were intimidated when they first met Leor because he was 6 foot 3 inches and had a very deep voice, but that intimidation immediately went away once they talked to him. He was described as a “Gentle Giant” or a “Big Teddy Bear”. Family was everything to Leor and all that knew him understood he took pride in the Skeivik name.
The world has lost an unforgettable one-of-a-kind man!!!
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to assist with funeral costs. Any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Cemetery services were conducted at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on Thursday, 10/07/2021 at 1:00 pm. Nine Perch Base members were present and our Chaplain, Governor Joy, presented the Eternal Patrol Certificate to the family.
