Jack O'Connor Funeral
Perch Base members attended a funeral mass for our departed shipmate, John Lloyd "Jack" O'Connor on February 28, 2015.
OBITUARY
O'Connor, Deacon John Lloyd (Jack)
Jack O'Connor, 84, of Phoenix Arizona passed away peacefully after suffering a long time (mostly from Cancer) on February 9, 2015.
He was a U.S. Navy 20 year veteran mostly as a submariner and Chief of the Boat (COB). Jack qualified on submarines USS Trigger (SS-564), Patrick Henry (SSBN-599), and Benjamin Franklin (SSBN-640).
He was born in Altoona, PA September 30, 1930 to Lloyd and Florence O'Connor. He was surrounded by his loving family and will be deeply missed.
He retired from AT&T and during this time he was a leader in the Cursillo Movement and ordained as a Catholic Deacon in the Diocese of Phoenix.
He is survived by his wife Anna, six children John (Jill), Mike (Tina), Jennifer (Mark), Rhonda, Sandra (Gene), and Ann Marie (Santiago), 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and one arriving soon.
The military honors were rendered precisely at 11:00 AM at St James Catholic Parish on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 19640 North 35th Avenue, Phoenix, followed immediately by the Funeral Mass.
His care at Hospice of Arizona was exceptional and the family was treated with loving care as well. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
