On Saturday, February 23, 2013, Perch Base participated in the Iwo Jima Parade in Sacaton, Arizona.
Ira H. Hayes American Legion Post 84 in Sacaton, Arizona, held the celebration to commemorate the 68th anniversary of the raising of the American flag by U.S. forces on Iwo Jima. The image of the Marines raising the flag, captured on film by Associated Press photojouralist Joe Rosenthal and immortalized in a monument created by sculptor Felix de Weldon, has become one of the most iconic military representations in American history.
Post 84's namesake, U.S. Marine Ira H. Hayes, Pima Nation, was one of the six soldiers who raised the flag on February 23, 1945.

We're sorry, but the photos of this event are no longer available.
